Hello all,

Sorry, it has been at least a couple of weeks since I’ve been able to write you a message. The Sports for Nature Team has been very busy working on our upcoming event in Costa Rica with tennis star, Juan Antonio Marin. We expect thousands of spectators and let me tell you, coordinating the logistics for this has not been easy. The good news is that everyone at Sports for Nature has quite a bit of fun working in these events. This particular event is benefiting the MarViva Foundation, an excellent Central America based non-profit that protects the sea and its biodiversity in the Caribbean.

We have already confirmed for the exhibition matches the current best tennis players in Costa Rica. They will all be playing against Juan Antonio Marin, making this a very exciting event. This line-up of tennis stars has never been seen in Costa Rican history before so spectators will be treated to some great tennis that’s all in favor of the environment and green initiatives.

The event will also have lots of food and merchandise vendors, DJ’s playing music and a performance from the famous Costa Rican chorus Cámara Surá; plus, lots of interactive contests with the audience and models performing to today’s popular music. What a show this will be! Local Costa Rican TV stations will be present taping the event so we expect high ratings for this tennis and nature celebration.

Juan Antonio Marin has been giving interviews in the last couple of weeks to local media and carrying out the message that tennis in Costa Rica, in order for it to have success in the international stage, needs to be more affordable to everyone, that public courts need to be built around the country and tennis eventually will take off. Right now soccer is the main sport for Costa Rica but we hope to change that with initiatives such as the present Sports for Nature event.

I’ll be in touch next week with updates on our Soccer for Nature and Golf for Nature events coming up in the next few months. I’ll also provide an update on our Party for Nature event also in Costa Rica on Friday, March 12, 2010 at the popular Rapsodia Lounge in the heart of San Jose.

I hope you all have a great weekend and please keep on visiting the Sports for Nature Website for updates on events in your favorite sport!

Kindest regards,

Jorge Morera
